We’re Seeking Passionate Volunteers to Strengthen Our Efforts
We’re looking for volunteers for our Events Committee with:
- Event Planning or Coordination Skills: Experience with organizing or coordinating events is a valuable asset.
- Organizational Abilities: Able to manage multiple event details, keep records organized, and track OFRE’s materials.
- Tech Skills: Familiarity with tools like Google Drive, Eventbrite, and other document or event management platforms.
- Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly with event participants, volunteers, and partners.
- Adaptability and Problem Solving: Comfortable adjusting plans as needed and ensuring events run smoothly.
About the Events Committee
The Events Coordinator and committee members are responsible for:
- Managing both internal and external event calendars to keep OFRE’s schedule organized and up-to-date.
- Collaborating with the Marketing Chair to promote events and maximize community engagement.
- Coordinating logistics for internal events, such as cider pressings or workshops, including creating Eventbrite listings and arranging instructors and venues.
- Maintaining event materials, such as banners and handouts, and ensuring they are ready and available.
- Communicating with participants to answer event-related questions and providing support as needed.
- Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for external and internal events, and ensuring OFRE representatives are in attendance.
- Monitoring opportunities for OFRE to participate in external events and assessing community involvement.
The Events Committee is all about bringing people together to celebrate, learn, and engage with local food systems.
This committee oversees both OFRE-led and community events, ensuring smooth planning, organization, and coordination with OFRE’s partners and volunteers. The Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in establishing event dates, managing logistics, and keeping the Events Calendar up-to-date.
Working closely with the Marketing Chair to promote events, the Events Coordinator also communicates with participants and manages volunteer involvement, ensuring each event is impactful and well-staffed.
Whether it’s organizing a hands-on cider pressing or setting up an educational workshop, the Events Committee makes each OFRE event a memorable experience that strengthens our community connections.
