Balancing Numbers, Community, and Sustainability
Nathan Binnema is a lifelong Edmontonian with a deep appreciation for the city’s natural spaces and urban gardens. Growing up with a vegetable garden, fruit trees in his backyard, and access to Edmonton’s beautiful ravines, he developed an early passion for connecting with the living environment around him.
As a bicycle commuter, Nathan takes full advantage of Edmonton’s bike lane network and the renowned River Valley ravine system, merging his commitment to sustainability with his daily routine.
With a natural aptitude for numbers and a dedication to community engagement, Nathan serves as Treasurer for Operation Fruit Rescue Edmonton, supporting the organization’s mission to reduce food waste and promote sustainability.
Nathan is also the driving force behind Green Drinks Edmonton chapter, where he plans and organizes events that bring together individuals passionate about sustainability and community building. When you see any Green Drinks events on our Events page, it was Nathan who put the whole thing together.
His unique blend of skills in finance and his love for fostering connections make him an integral part of both OFRE and Edmonton’s sustainability community.
