Bonnie: A Lifelong Advocate for Community, Connection, and Creative Living
Definitely a northerner, Bonnie is a native Edmontonian and Masters level social worker. Her home base has always been Alberta, but her work experience has included the arctic for over 10 years a relief social worker in the Nunavut. Currently, she continues with casual work at both the University and Misericordia Hospitals.
Involved in OFRE as a long term member since established in 2009, as a picker, photographer and fruit rescuer, she served as a Member of the Voluntary Board from April 2013 to April 2019 and has seen the not- for- profit grow to include the establishment of a local micro-orchard.
With a Little Free Library in front of her house, Bonnie is also involved with her Avonmore neighbourhood activities such as book and garden club and the owner of five cats! Personal interests include house renos, creative writing, hosting couchsurfers, photography, gardening, swimming, cycling, x-c skiing, and some travelling in the Rockies and BC for visits with family and grandchildren.
