Espalier Workshop 2019

Saturday, July 13 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

ESPALIER WORKSHOP!

  • What is a living fence?
  • Want to create a privacy screen, or a fence with trees?
  • How is that even possible?

Come to the orchard this Saturday, July 13th, from 9 AM until 12 PM and learn the ins and outs of Espalier.

We will talk with local expert, Dustin Bajer, who created espalier trees on his own property. Join us at the orchard, where Dustin helped Operation Fruit Rescue Edmonton (OFRE) start the espalier trees two years ago.

During this workshop we will be:

  • tightening our lines
  • discussing proper pruning for espalier
  • adjusting our 2 apple trees
  • starting our 2 pear trees
  • determining how to start our wonderful grapes.

This will be a jam packed morning with a possibility of a visit to see another espalier site!

Please dress for the weather, as this event will run, rain or shine. And bring or borrow a pair of gardening gloves.
