Are you interested in volunteering with OFRE, please click on the tab that says “Fruit Picker & Volunteer Form”. We have a new registration system this year and need all previous and new volunteers to fill out the new form. It’s short and simple and really will only take you a few minutes to complete.
There are many ways you can help out OFRE as a volunteer, please check off the correspondence boxes on the new form that represent the activities you are interested in participating in.
Some of the area you can volunteer in are:
- Fruit pickings
- Neighborhood Fruit Captain
- Canning & Preserving workshops
- Admin & Tech support
- Governance
- Farmer’s market stall
Hi! Looking forward to volunteering… but I don’t understand what is required in some of your categories (what’s a ‘fruit captain’ do?). I don’t want to say I’ll volunteer in something, then find out I won’t be able to!
I am just volunteering for one thing for now, figure we’ll get started and ask more questions later!)

Hi Ann, If you haven’t volunteered with us before, it’s best to sign up to be a fruit picker. you will learn a lot about what we do and will meet a fruit captain who will explain what their role is and if it’s something you are interested in doing, you can send info at operationfruitrescue.org an email to let us know and we will give you the training materials needed.

Hi Laura, you should see the form if you click on the tab near the top of our website called “fruit picker & volunteer form” when you do that, the online form will open up on the screen.

No, not slow. the fruit picker form & registration system isn’t quite ready yet. I will post the form soon. Just finishing off the final details to make sure the system works smoothly and easily for everyone.
So 2012 volunteer forms still in process….I am around this summer and don’t want to miss out!
