If you have fruit to share with OFRE, please fill out the form below. We accept all kinds of fruit requests such as: apples, crabapples, rhubarb, gooseberries, raspberries, strawberries, pears, saskatoon berries, etc.
All information collected is kept confidential and is only used for organizing pickings. Your information will not be shared with any other organizations.
PLEASE NOTE: By completing the fruit grower form to register your fruit tree/bush with us does not guarantee that your fruit will be picked. We currently have more fruit pick requests than pickers. We are a small, but dedicated group of volunteers that love locally grown fruit!
Thank you for your interest in sharing your fruit with members of your community!

can anyone tell me when pears are typically ready in edmonton?? first year in the house! thanks!
Hi,
We have a very productive apple tree at our rental property (baking apples). The branches are heavy with tasty fruit and the tenants can’t use it all… Please feel free to drop by and pick some. You will likely need a ladder for the upper branches! Enjoy!
Hi Joanne,
thanks for getting in touch with us. Pleas fill out our fruit grower form to register your tree(s) with us. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee your fruit will get picked, due to teh peakness of the season and currently we have more growers than pickers. but i encourage you to register as every neighborhood is different and some are more active than others with the fruit pickings. you can find the form on our website under the volunteer tab.
Thanks for your interest and your generosity,
Amy
We have a ton of apples that need to be picked in the University Area. Green Apples.
Hi Steven, thanks for getting in touch with us.
please fill out our fruit grower form in order to register your tree with OFRE. We can’t guarantee that your tree will get picked as we currently have more growers than pickers, but we do our best to get to as many places as possible.
Thank you for your interest in OFRE.

I would love to welcome people to pick my 5 apple trees but am concerned about liability if someone gets hurt. Unfortunately I had a friend’s husband that died falling out of an apple tree. Do growers assume liability when welcoming people onto their properties?
Hi Miranda,
that’s terrible news. i’m sorry for your loss. thanks for getting in touch with us. please fill out our fruit growers form which you can find a link to on our website. in terms of the waiver, we ask all volunteers to fill out our fruit pickers & volunteers form. there is a waiver built into the form that they need to agree to in order to volunteer with us. if you would like to read the waiver, you can go to the fruit picker form for more information.
We have 3 trees loaded with apples
Hi tom, thanks for getting in touch. please fill out our fruit growers form and we will do our best to send someone to your neighborhood for a picking.
we still have cooking apples available, some picked, some still on the tree. Great for pies. South Millwoods. Need to be processed in next 3 days.
Hi Joyce, have these apples been picked and you are trying to find someone who would like to used them, or are you wanting your apples picked by some OFRE volunteers? If you are wanting them picked by OFRE, have you filled out our fruit growers form? If not, please go to the fruit growers form available on our website and fill in your information. Then, we will get you assigned to a neighborhood fruit captain in your area. Thanks for your interest in OFRE. Amy
We have two apple trees in our backyard that are ready to go. The apples are small this year but none the less they are amazing. You are more than welcome to keep them all as we can’t keep up with the amount we get off both trees. They are two different types of apples and one tree tends to ripen earlier. They are both pretty good to go though. We have a ladder for some of the higher up branches. The apples at the top usually do ok with a good shake but you have to be careful not to get hit with the falling ones! Pleaes come and collect them!
Hi Britt,
sorry for the delay in replying. we are asking all the fruit growers to go to our online form and fill out the fruit growers form. The forms are located on our website. once oyu have filled it out one of our great volunteers will get in touch with you to arrange a time that OFRE volunteers can come and pick. thanks so much for your interested in OFRE. Amy
Your organization came last year and picked the apples from our tree and we would love for you to come back this year. Again, the fruit is yours for the taking and can be shared with the food bank as you see fit. We live in the West End of town near Edmonton Golf & Country Club. Please contact us at your convenience.

Hi Marilyn, thanks so much for your message. when do you expect your apples to be ready? i will check our sheets to make sure we have your information and if not, we will contact you.
My crab-apple tree is in full bloom; expecting many apples this year. Feel free to come and pick some when they are ready.
Belmont area.
Hi,
I have three apple trees and have made juice,
apple sauce, given a lot away and, unfortunately, have thrown a lot away, after
they had fallen. Two of the trrees, bearing latge , soft apples, are almost done but the third, with medium sized, medium sweet apples, has just begun to drop its bounty recently. I have pickesd alot of what I can reach
and would be happy to see whatever can be harvested go to the Food Bank and any projects they could be used for.
I live in Highlands and would welcome any feedback.
Sincerely,
Noel Alden

We have two huge crabapple trees in front which we can not use. The apples make great jelly, applesauce, apple juice and a neighbor has even made fruit leather. There is also wild chokecherry and pin cherry in the back that would be good for jams and jelly. If you are interested please let me know. I don’t need any of the fruit this year. We are located in Riverbend.
Hi, I am looking for any types of fruit to pick. How do I get in contact with peoplpe who have some to offer?
I’m looking for rhubarb for pies. Does anyone have some still? Believe it or not, I managed to kill my rhubarb plant, although that was completely by accident!
I have an Evans Sour Cherry tree in my backyard, and can not use the fruit this year. You are welcome to the whole tree. The cherries make wonderful pies and/or jams, but are very tart and not a good eating cherry. If you would be interested please let me know. I live in Castledowns in Edmonton.
Hi Nicole,
Please fill out the ‘Fruit Form’ on this website so that we have all the information we need from you. In light of the current date I have a feeling your cherries might not be around anymore but let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
Hi there, I was just wondering if you have found anyone to pick your cherries?
I would be willing to bring back some cherry jelly when it’s made…Please let me know
Kudos!! Congrats on your first pick! May you have thousands ahead of you. Please feel free to contact us if you want to talk fruit sharing. We are 10 years old this season.
Cheers,
Erin
We have a crab apple tree in St.Albert that we would be pleased to let you take the fruit. We do not need a share of the crop.
We have an apple tree with many apples on it. We will not use them. Let me know if you can. Thanks.

I just read the article in The Edmonton Journal and congratulate you on your exciting program. I have a large cherry tree in my back yard and your group along with the food bank is welcome to the entire crop of very ripe cherries on the tree.
We have an apple tree that is ready to be picked and have been looking for someway to pass on the fruit to someone interested in it such as your group. Please let me know if you would be interested in the fruit. We do not require to keep any of it, so it can be shared between pickers and food bank.
